If you want to make good use of your time, you’ve got to know what’s most important and then give it all you’ve got. - Lee Lacocca
As a student, it’s hard to focus on certain things because of huge number of distractions. We set our own goals and strive to achieve whatever it may be. Many people say that they really want to finish their studies to have a better job in the future. But hey! It’s easy to think about it and construct in words, but it’s hard to put those things in action. We try to divide our attention on many things. Studies, family gatherings, friends, school organizations, and etc. Correct me if I’m wrong but, technology nowadays is a valid factor why students, sometimes, forget his or her main priority. True. It doesn’t happen only to me but for anyone else. Social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and other websites are given too much importance than academic subjects. Cellphones and other gadgets are distracting to us. Those things may be helpful, but not all times. Everything has its own advantage and disadvantages.
Looking back on my high school years, I still remember how I divided myself on things. There were times when I need to choose between a family gathering and a school event, which was part of the student council programs. I prioritized every school activities when I was elected as president. I really have to decide well. The whole faculty expected too much from me, as well as my parents. It was not easy.
Now that I’m in college, there’s more. My course is uneasy. I really have to stay focused for me to pass. I’m also part of the student council and I’m pressured by all activities and works. I have my choir every Sundays and so much determined to lose weight by engaging myself to regular exercise and proper diet so I enrolled myself to Fitness First. Family and friend gatherings are always present. I really have to balance my time. Prioritize, prioritize, prioritize. That’s what I keep on reminding my friends who experience hard time handling his/her time.
With the help of prayer and planner, I manage my time well. I'm loaded this semester with research, geriatric nursing, medical-surgical nursing, psychiatric nursing and clinical rotation days (duty). I really have to pick my priority. The gym is always there but my grades may be changed once in a while and I know that losing weight is gradual. I can control my food intake so that's my last priority.
Choir is my second priority next to studies. I'm the Lord's servant for 6 years and I really lift my talent back to Him. That's my way of thanking Him for everything. It's my time to unwind from stress and it's my time to spend my day with my talent and passion. It's for Him. No one else.

Family gatherings are important to me. That’s why I’m having a hard time managing my time especially when I really have to choose. It’s really difficult. So I guess, it depends upon the situation.
Be aware that time flies really fast. If you don’t handle your time wisely, you won’t be able to finish something important or do things you really like. Think first before deciding. It helps.
